Risk and pauses

Exposure caps, position limits, and the price band

How acquisition cost and executable prices constrain an order.

What counts as exposure

Limits use remaining acquisition cost including entry fees: $500 per market, $1,000 total, and 20 positions. Buys also need sufficient cash. An account cannot hold both outcomes of a market.

A buy that exceeds a risk limit is refused rather than automatically reduced to fit. This does not cancel an earlier uncertain order; keep checking its original ticket.

Entry prices and closing

A buy’s last price level must be within 15–85 cents, inclusive. An inside-band top price does not guarantee the requested amount can execute inside the band.

Closing is not restricted by the entry price band alone. It still needs a permitted account state, verified market identity, fresh executable prices and depth. A halt or outage can prevent it.
